Nylfor B ® (PA6)

Polyamide 6 Compound
Nylfor B® is an aliphatic polyamide 6 obtained through the polymerisation of caprolactam. The chain chemical structure ensures a high impact resistance and excellent mechanical properties of the material.
The Nylfor B® product family includes a wide range of materials, such as fiberglass reinforced, elastomer modified, heat-stabilised, mineral filled and flame-retarded (UL94-V0).
Taylor-made formulations can also be developed to meet specific market needs.
Nylfor B® is available in many viscosity grades and in a wide range of colours.
Nylfor B® main features are:
  • Excellent mechanical properties (modulus and load)
  • High impact resistance
  • Excellent resistance to organic solvents
  • High wear and fatigue resistance even at high temperatures
  • Easy processability and moulding

Polyammide 6 is a highly hygroscopic material therefore it is necessary a drying phase before processing.

Nylfor B® can be co-moulded with some special grades of the Laprene® range (SEBS based thermoplastic elastomer).
The Nylfor B® range includes only grades for injection moulding.
The following temperature settings are recommended when processing standard materials:
  • Processing temperature 230-260°C
  • Mould temperature 60-80°C
  • Drying 4h@90°C
Nylfor® is a fully recyclable material and it can be reused after regrinding. The user shall always verify that the compound obtained by mixing virgin and reground material is suitable for the specific application and that its properties meet the requirements.
This product should be stored in a covered facility and kept away from moisture and heat
